Eight teams aim to extend winning runs in EHF European League Men

Group F has the unique situation of two teams on perfect runs — in every other group where clubs count four points, only one does so. Group G is the only one where no team has won both their games so far; there, all four sides have at least one point, as is the case in group D. But group D is led by European cup competitions newcomers Bergischer HC on the maximum four points.

Group G is therefore looking to be one of the most competitive at this stage.

Elverum Håndball (NOR) vs RK Nexe (CRO)

• Nexe have two points in their account, while Elverum have the maximum of four

• Nexe are recovering from what might be considered a surprise loss in round 2, to European League debutants Hammarby Handboll; Nexe’s squad has changed little since they reached the quarter-finals in 2025/26 and ended a season-long winning run from eventual semi-finalists THW Kiel in the first leg

• Elverum centre back Frederik Pedersen leads the competition’s scoring chart, with 25 goals; the 21-year-old has hit double digits in both goal games so far

• as with all matches in group A in the first three rounds, this is the first official clash between the sides ever

• Nexe are regulars in the second-tier European cup competition, having played every edition of the EHF Cup then European League since 2008; Elverum are in their fourth European League campaign, on the back of eight seasons in the Champions League

Limoges Handball (FRA) vs IRUDEK Bidasoa Irun (ESP)

• playing the EHF European League for the second time, after reaching the quarter-finals in 2024/25, Limoges are enjoying a strong campaign so far with two wins in two games

• Bidasoa Irun have an extensive history in international club competitions, with 15 seasons behind them; two of those seasons saw glory, as they took the EHF Champions League trophy in 1994/95 and the Cup Winners’ Cup in 1996/97

• Irun sit third in the group behind Limoges in first and Maritimo de Madeira, having lost to the Portuguese team in round 2

• the teams met in the European League main round in 2024/25, trading home wins; those two games were their only previous mutual encounters

• among Limoges’ new arrivals over the summer was Tom Pelayo, top scorer and All-star right back of the French league in 2024/25; he has netted seven so far in the EHF European League 2026/27
