With Norway edging Iceland out of the automatic World Championship qualification place last night, we knew all the teams that would be playing the next stage of the qualification process for next year's tournament. Earlier this afternoon a draw took place to determine who plays who, with the nine lowest-ranked teams from the EHF EURO 2022 facing the eight teams that have come through phase one of the qualification, plus Switzerland. 

The winners of those nine matches will then face the teams ranked sixth to 15th at the EHF EURO 2022, excluding Poland who are already qualified as co-hosts of the World Championship. Find out who's going to play who!

Gonzalo Perez de Vargas has been on top form throughout the EHF EURO 2022, facing 175 shots so far and saving 57 of them (nearly 33 per cent). Last night he made more critical saves, including the one which rubber-stamped Spain's place in the final.

Andreas Palicka took Sweden to the semi-finals yesterday with not just a series of saves but also three goals, and he tops the top saves list ahead of Gonzalo Perez de Vargas who also played superbly against Denmark. Plus, a last appearance by Iceland's 21-year-old star Viktor Hallgrímsson!

Good morning - and we hope you're not too worn out after last night's handball. It had everything: extra-time in the placement match, Spain overcoming the form book to take a fourth consecutive spot in the finals, and Sweden's outstanding goalkeeper Andreas Palicka ensuring his team have a chance at a historic fifth title.

Today, the teams will have media calls, and there will also be a closing press conference and the draw for the European qualification phase of the World Championship to be held in Poland and Sweden next year. Norway booked their automatic place for that yesterday in the tantalising win against Iceland.
