GOG target title defence, hunted by Barça, Füchse and Veszprém

Both semi-finals and the 3/4 placement match will be played in TSV Sportcenter Dormagen. Like last year, the final will take place in LANXESS arena, right before the final matches of the Machineseeker EHF Champions League 2025/26. Last week, Hungarian side DVSC Kézilabda Akadémia won the premiere edition of the EHF Youth Club Trophy Women, beating CSM Bucuresti in the final in Budapest.

Barça and Berlin have the chance to win two trophies in Cologne, as their senior teams are part of the TruckScout24 EHF FINAL4 2026 — and in both competitions, a Barça versus Berlin final is possible, as Füchse face SC Magdeburg in the Champions League semi and Barça lock horns with Aalborg.

Barça (ESP) vs GOG (DEN)

• GOG won the trophy in 2025, beating Veszprém 37:28 in the final in LANXESS arena
• the Danish club scored 89 goals in their two 2026 qualification matches, played in Bucharest, first beating the hosts CS Dinamo Bucuresti 47:30 in the semi, then winning the final against Sporting Clube de Portugal 42:31
• last year, Barça’s U18 team lost their semi-final against Veszprém, but then secured an impressive 55:28 win in the 3/4 placement match against Eurofarm Pelister
• in their 2026 qualification, Barça beat the tournament hosts OTP Bank - PICK Szeged 32:23, then left Kolstad Håndball no chance in the final, winning 40:17
• the overall top scorer of the qualification is Emil Bak with 26 goals for GOG; Adrian Sola has netted 17 times for Barça

Füchse Berlin (GER) vs Veszprém Handball Academy (HUN)

• after failing in the 2025 qualification against eventual winners GOG, Füchse Berlin are now the first German side to play at the final tournament of the Youth Club Trophy
• in the qualification tournament in Porec, the "Foxes" scored 101 goals — 50 in the semi-final against Zagreb (50:29) and 51 in the final against HC Eurofarm Pelister (51:21)
• Veszprém Handball Academy finished second in 2025; after beating Barça in the semi, they lost the final against GOG
• following a goal fest in the semi-final of this year’s qualification (48:33 against KSS Iskra Kielce), hosts Veszprém took a buzzer-beating 39:38 win against SC Magdeburg, after being down 29:32 eight minutes before the end
• Berlin’s top striker in the qualification was Leo Novak with 19 goals; Zalán Juhász-Tóth is Veszprém’s leading scorer with 16 strikes
