Next EHF webinar to explore how academies support elite talents

Three experts will join the online lecture to explore the way academies identify, develop and support young talents in their professional journeys: Magnus Guldager Pedersen, Skanderborg Håndbold Elite Akademi (SHEA) Responsible for Talent Recruitment and U17 coach; Jan De Bellis, JANO Filder Academy, Head of Talent Development and U17 coach; and Aleix Caussa, BM Granollers Academy Director.

All three speakers will also take part in the EHF Grassroots Convention 2026 — "Grow the game: building athletes, leaders and ambassadors" — where youth academies and best practice models are among the main topics of the event.

The webinar will cover multiple aspects regarding how academies operate, such as identifying talents, using suitable training strategies — including age-related training — and what an academy model looks like.

Additionally, the panel will also tackle the ways in which academies can support athletes when it comes to balancing school obligations and sport, how to create a proper environment for top talents and develop a pathway to professional sport, and many more interesting topics.
