So, the main round is complete. Group I will be Sweden, Hungary, France, Poland, Montenegro and Romania. Group II will feature Norway, Slovenia, Denmark, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Germany.

So, a brief reminder of what's at stake in today's games:

• at 18:00 CET, the Faroe Islands could go to the main round were they to beat Denmark; whoever wins between Serbia and Romania will have to wait for the outcome of the last group D match; and in Innsbruck, the Netherlands are through but Ukraine are already eliminated
• at 20:30 CET, Czechia need to win to be sure of progressing, whatever happened earlier, while Montenegro qualify with a win or draw; Switzerland go through if they win or draw against Croatia, while Croatia's fate depends on whether the Faroe Islands have surprised Denmark; and Germany progress with a win or a draw, while Iceland need to win

That means it'll be exciting right down to the end of the round!

The players are beginning their warm-ups now - in Innsbruck, the Netherlands are jogging and Ukraine are stretching in those first chilled moments of the process.

The last day of the preliminary round throws off in just over an hour, and it finishes with what promises to be a cracking match in Innsbruck between Iceland and Germany. We can't wait!

Group B is complicated, with all four teams able to progress to the main round. Montenegro’s path is clearest – they just need to win or draw against Czechia. Victory over Montenegro would mean Czechia go through. If Czechia draw or lose to Montenegro, Romania progress if they can beat Serbia; while the simplest way for Serbia is a six-goal win over Romania, and Montenegro beating Czechia.

Time for today's Stat of the Day - although the Faroe Islands are underdogs against Denmark tonight, they can count on two superb goalkeepers. Annika Frídheim Petersen and Rakul Wardum have saved 44.9 per cent of the shots on goal so far, more than any other team.

On Sunday night the Faroe Islands women took a point on their EHF EURO debut, drawing with Croatia - in a game that was in many ways very similar to their men's draw with Norway at the Men's EHF EURO back in January.

The Faroese play Denmark tonight; they have few illusions about the scale of the job in front of them, but they do want to continue living their European championship fairytale with the few hundred devoted fans who have come to support them. Read more in Danijela Vekić’s feature.

One of the key games today is in group D, where Croatia meet Switzerland. Croatia will have some clarity about what they need to do depending on the outcome of the first game, between the Faroe Islands and Denmark – a draw or loss for the Faroes mean Croatia just need to beat Switzerland, but if the Faroes pull off the biggest shock of the tournament Croatia could still progress with a win if the goal difference is in their favour. For Switzerland, it’s easy: win or draw.
