Denmark, runners-up of the 2024 edition and recently crowned Olympic champions, will start their EHF EURO 2026 journey in Herning in group B.
Co-hosts Norway will begin their preliminary round campaign in Oslo in group C, while Sweden, who claimed bronze at EHF EURO 2024, are featured in group E in Malmö.
If they qualify, three other teams – Germany, Faroe Islands and Iceland – are set to join the seeding list for the final tournament.
Germany have just celebrated winning silver at the Paris 2024 Olympics and would play in group A in Herning, Denmark.
After qualifying for their first-ever EHF EURO in 2024, Faroe Islands are expected to play in group D in Oslo if they manage to get past the Qualifiers for the 2026 tournament.
A successful campaign in the Qualifiers would give Iceland a ticket to the preliminary round group F in Kristianstad, Sweden.
The possibility for seeding teams prior to the final tournament draw derives from the EHF EURO regulations. The goal is to drive spectator interest. The final decision rests with the EHF.
