The inductees are taking a handball-specific course which focuses intensively on sports economics topics, including economic and legal requirements of team sport, handball management, sport marketing, financing, media training and more.
Some of the biggest names in handball, such as former national team players, have been awarded the certificate in the 10 years that the EHF has been organising this course in conjunction with German Sport University Cologne.
The participants learn from some of the most experienced figures in the game. This year, lectures will be given by former EHF Champions League-winning coach Ljubomir Vranjes, and current Austria women's coach, Monique Tijsterman.
Further academic expertise will also be shared by Prof. Dr. Tim Pawlowski of the University of Tübingen and Dr. Jacqueline Müller of Loughborough University, London, among others. The course alternates between English and German languages, with this year's being held in English.
“Together with the European Handball Federation and many colleagues, we have continued to expand the course of study in recent years and are all very proud of what we have achieved, which at the same time is an incentive and motivation for at least 10 more years,” said course director, Dr. Stefan Walzel.
The EHF wishes every success to everyone involved in the European Handball Manager course for 2024/25.
