EHF Finals - the start of something new

In the season 2020/21 the EHF European League replaced the former EHF Cup as the EHF´s second tier club competition. A new format as well as a new corporate identity were part of the renewal. Therefore, the EHF Finals Women were played for the first time over the course of one weekend.

The first ever EHF Finals Women was played on 8/9 May 2021 at the Sala Polivalenta Lascar Pana in Baia Mare, Romania. The qualified teams were CS Minaur Baia Mare (ROU), Herning-Ikast Handbold (DEN), Nantes Atlantique Handball (FRA) and Siófok KC (HUN).

The team of Nantes Atlantique Handball won the EHF Finals Women 2021 and is therefore the first-ever winner of the EHF European League Women.
