Who has recorded a 134 km/h shot at the Men's EHF EURO 2026?

1. Fastest shot: Miro Schluroff (Germany)

Germany's left back Miro Schluroff set the pace in a storming opening week of the championship. The 25-year-old clocked a staggering 134.1 km/h against Serbia in round two of group A. His underarm power shot came in the 29th minute, launched from 9.94 metres out and pushed Germany into a 16:13 lead. Not only that, Schluroff backed up that performance later in the group phase with another power shot at 130.14 km/h against Austria.

2. Long-range power: Francisco Costa (Portugal)

Not far behind Schluroff sits Portugal's Francisco Costa with a 132.26 km/h shot against Romania on the opening day for group B. The shot arrived in the closing stages of a high-scoring contest that ended 40:34 with the younger Costa brother firing from long range into an empty goal.

3. Outfield force: Jonáš Josef (Czechia)

Third place in the fastest shots standings belongs to Czechia's Jonáš Josef. His 131.65 km/h standing shot rocket from 10 metres came in the 38:29 win over Ukraine, helping his team to move ahead to 13:11. Despite Czechia finishing third in group C and ending their path at the tournament, Josef's strong shot left a mark.

Just outside the top three are Montenegro's Branko Vujović at 131.33 km/h and Germany's Juri Knorr at 131.22 km/h, meaning five shots have already surpassed the 130 km/h mark at the main round halfway point.

The usual trend of back-court players dominating the fastest shots rankings continues at the Men's EHF EURO 2026 as well. Among the nine fastest shots recorded so far, five have been delivered by left backs, two by centre backs and two by right backs, underlining how power shots remain a key strength across all back court positions. The first non-back-court player on the list is France's right wing Benoît Kounkoud, whose fastest shot was measured at 129.02 km/h.

What makes these figures even more interesting is how clearly they outpace the previous championship, with six more match days remaining for players to break the current EHF EURO 2026 record.

At the Men's EHF EURO 2024 the fastest shot of the entire tournament was recorded by Serbian right wing Bogdan Radivojević at 129.46 km/h, just ahead of Polish centre back Michał Olejniczak at 129.42 km/h, with Icelandic right back Viggó Kristjánsson coming in third at 128.23 km/h. None of those strong shots would be among the top eight in 2026.
