The Machineseeker EHF Champions League 2024/25 trophy was decided in LANXESS arena, Cologne on Sunday night, with SC Magdeburg celebrating their third after the titles in 2023 and 2002. It was an incredible performance from SCM, who were in charge through most of the match, leaving their opponents Füchse Berlin with no answer.

Opening the TruckScout24 EHF FINAL4 2025 action earlier on Sunday, HBC Nantes beat last season's winners Barça in the 3/4 placement match.

Magdeburg, with Hernandez, has completely stopped Berlin’s attack and disabled Gidsel in the first 20 minutes, as he couldn’t find solutions from his position. Seradilla closed him, but he decided to change the tactics, moved to centre back and tried to solve the situation better — one-on-one. Berlin found their solutions in attack through the wings and line players, but Hernandez is phenomenal today and this is what Berlin is missing, goalkeeper — saves and, to say it, a bit different and smarter attack, using the wings more often, but attacking through the middle, as this is what Magdeburg does the best.

We are in the crunch time of the season, which could work to SC Magdeburg's advantage, as they are the best crunch-time team. In the last six minutes of all matches where the goal difference between the two teams was two goals or less, at least once, Magdeburg scored 10.8 more goals per 50 possessions than their opponents — by far the best.
