Summary: France top group I; Sweden, Poland also win
Debrecen saw its last Women's EHF EURO 2024 matches on Tuesday, with the group I place in the 5/6 placement match taken by Sweden after a one-goal win over Montenegro, and France beating Hungary for top spot in the group.
Losing now would have been a little tough on our confidence. We wanted to go to the semi-finals full with energy and we'd been doing right all the way, even though it doesn't mean anything and every game is a new game. But I think we can learn a lot from this game. Plus, even though we won, we also made mistakes and there's a lot to take from this game and take it to the semi-finals.
We want to win against France. We want to end up in the first place in our group because we can face the second one in the other group and that's how we can avoid Norway. That would be really good for us. And we play at home, we want to serve our fans and every victory that we have taken has given us so much power and strength that we can use it in the future and get something from it.
This extra game against Hungary might be a good opportunity for us to improve and show that we can be a little better. We’ve been better throughout the competition a little bit for every game, so we need this extra step before going to Vienna. This is what we want there.
