18:40 | HALF-TIME
What a debut performance the Faroese are having! They're going toe-to-toe with the more experience Slovenians, and it's basically level pegging. Neither side is playing perfect handball - it's a bit scrappy, with plenty of penalties and suspensions - but it's a strong showing.
It took the Georgians a little while to find their feet on the European stage, but they did find them eventually. However, the Dutch are now leading comfortably, helped by Bart Ravensbergen with a 40 per cent save efficiency.
On the one side, you have Greece making their EHF EURO debut, and they've done a good job - Savvas Savvas leading the scoring with four goals. On the other, you have the Costa brothers, Francisco and Martim, making their debuts for Portugal, and Francisco (or 'Kiko') is shining with six goals from eight shots so far. Definitely one to look out for among the young players in the tournament.

In Munich, Pedro Portela shoots and hits Greek goalkeeper Petros Boukovinas in the face. The Bonaventura sisters review the video, and give Portela a two-minute suspension.
18:30
For a moment it looked like Slovenia were getting the upper hand, but the Faroes rallied well and Vilhelm Poulsen equalised.
Klemen Ferlin is having a good outing in goal for Slovenia, but he can't stop everything and Elias Ellefsen á Skipagøtu's latest penalty shot past him. It's 9:9.
Portugal lead Greece and the Netherlands Georgia by four and five goals.
18:21
All three debutants are playing really well against their more experienced opponents - there's no more than three goals in any of the games now, with Georgia recovering superbly from their slow start to close the gap with the Netherlands.
18:18
Here's Georgia's first-ever EURO goal - our X account also has the first Greek and Faroese goals!
18:15
Georgia now also have their first EHF EURO goals - scored by Giorgi Dikhaminjia and Erekle Arsenashvili.
18:12
In defence, Slovenia are trying to use all their extra height and weight as best they can against the slippy Faroese players - it's paying off a bit. In return, the Faroese are defending hard too and a foul on Dean Bombac has gone to video review. Teis Horn Rasmussen gets a two-minute suspension but goes off after giving Bombac a friendly hug. Slovenia equalise at 4:4.
Greece are playing superbly against Portugal, and have just equalised at 6:6. Georgia are still looking for the net.
18:05
Slovenia's first goal, after two and a half minutes of back-and-forth play, is followed quickly by the Faroes' first-ever EHF EURO goal by Teis Horn Rasmussen.
Now Greece and the Faroes lead 2:1 against Portugal and Slovenia. Georgia are yet to score against the Netherlands.
18:00
And here we go - ready for a bumper night of handball?

In Mannheim, the Dutch fans have arrived and are dancing away with the mascot.
Half an hour until throw-off! If you're watching from home, tune into the EHF EURO 2024 live show, presented by Trivago, which begins very soon on Twitch.

The formal warm-up periods have begun now. In Berlin, the Faroe Islands came out to a round of applause from their fans. Several thousand Faroese are expected to support the team in their European debut - quite something as the country's population is around 53,400, less people than we had in the MERKUR SPIEL-ARENA yesterday!
17:05
It's quite chilly in Germany with plenty of snow and ice, and Portugal got out in Munich to enjoy it earlier! They play Greece in an hour's time.
16:35
The Mercedes-Benz Arena is ready for tonight's matches - and here's a few clips of Slovenia training here yesterday. Both Slovenia and the Faroe Islands are drifting on to court for their early warm-up right now, throwing a few balls and stretching. It's less than 90 minutes until they throw off.
15:40
Before tonight's games, have a watch through yesterday's top five saves. Unsurprisingly, Andy Wolff is at the top of the list.
15:15
We're in Berlin! It's a frosty, cold day so ideal for heading to a handball arena with thousands of fellow fans to watch a couple of games, right?
Over in Munich, world champions Denmark are gearing up to play Czechia as they look for the title that's eluded them since 2012. This reel will surely get their fans behind them!
13:35
As the train from Dusseldorf pulls into Berlin, there'll be a bit of a break on the blog but we'll be back later from the Mercedes-Benz Arena as groups D, E and F prepare for throw-off.
In the meantime, maybe have a look around social media and see what the teams have been sharing - such as Jim Gottfridsson and Daniel Pettersson's 'morning coffee' - in Swedish, of course, but a nice look at the players interacting!

Another team beginning their EHF EURO 2024 today is Norway. The Scandinavian side reached an all-time high of bronze in 2020 - after a nailbiting, extraordinary semi-final with Croatia in Stockholm - and were fifth in 2022. This year, captain Christian O'Sullivan is hoping that the experience of the side will carry them that bit further. It's worth noting that Julian Rux already identified Norway as the team with the most continuity in the competition this year, and of course a number of their key players now play together for Kolstad in the Machineseeker EHF Champions League.
Find out what O'Sullivan told EHF journalist Filip Mishov about the team's hopes ahead of the tournament.
